Dectron Internationale
(DECT) was officially launched as a public corporation and has been trading in
NASDAQ since fall of 1998 to March 2007 and the TSX since May 2005. The
corporation originates from a consortium of private companies in the Indoor Air
Quality industry.
Dectron was founded in 1976 with the objective of preventing structural damage
caused by high levels of humidity in indoor pools. In this pursuit, Dectron
pioneers the indoor pool
dehumidification market with the introduction of the
DRY-O-TRON®, a mechanical dehumidification system that uses a
revolutionary energy saving feature that controls humidity levels while helping
maintain comfortable temperature levels of the pool’s water as well as the air
inside the building.
In 1995, Ness Lakdawala, (President and C.E.O) acquires
Dectron to form the Dectron Group, a diversified group of
companies with vertical integration synergies. The group includes
RefPlus, a manufacturer of
commercial refrigeration equipment supplying the food industry,
and Thermoplus Air,
a manufacturer of specialized air
conditioning and heating solutions supplying commercial and
industrial sectors.
In 1998, Dectron Internationale begins trading in NASDAQ. Soon after the IPO,
Dectron Internationale acquires
Circul-Aire, a supplier of
air purification technologies to the oil, mining and paper
industries, and PM Wright Limited, a manufacturer of customized electrical
heaters supplying other manufacturers mainly in the transportation industry.
In 1999, the company acquires IPAC Inc, a manufacturer of precision
air conditioning equipment, providing solutions for computer and
control rooms for the telecommunications industry.
In 2000, the company introduces a revolutionary concept: designer
indoor air® (dia), allowing for the engineering, specification,
design and manufacturing of solutions to address multi-spectrum indoor air
problems as a single source supplier.
In 2002, the company acquires the intellectual assets of
International Water Makers, a supplier of water generation
equipment using a patented breakthrough process to generate water from air. In
December of the same year Dectron Internationale divests PM Wright, a
subsidiary of Circul-Aire
.
In 2003, the company acquires Tranzmetal;
an ISO certified manufacturer of Customized
Precision Sheet Metal Products.
In 2005, Dectron Internationale obtains ISO 9001:2000
certifications for Dectron Inc
and Circul-Aire and
in 2007, adds RefPlus
to their certification.
In the years to come Dectron Internationale will continue to leverage its
unique ability to provide indoor air quality solutions that combine
state-of-the-art particulate filtration and chemically engineered gas-phase
filtration media for toxic air removal, together with very specialized energy
recycling, humidity and temperature control systems. The “designer indoor air®”
concept will continue to ensure single-source responsibility. For the
engineers, architects, general contractors and consumers alike this means a
guarantee of the highest quality in design and fabrication of solutions to meet
the most stringent requirements for safe and comfortable indoor air.
